GUST MBA Organizes Seminar By Mr. Abdulla Al Tuwaijri

GUST MBA Program organized a seminar entitled “Digital Banking & Innovation”, presented by Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Boubyan Bank, Mr. Abdulla Al Najran Al Tuwaijri, on its campus. The seminar discussed the different aspects of digital banking and its different applications in today’s world.

The aim of the seminar was to link the theories students learn in the classroom to real life situations. This helped the students gain more insight into those theories, and have the ability to apply them into different situations in the workplace.

In his presentation, Mr. Al Tuwaijri showcased Boubyan Bank's latest developments in local digital banking, and touched on the various challenges and opportunities encountered along the way.

Among the issues discussed was the importance of cyber security and its implications. Mr. Al Tuwaijri said, "We apply the highest security measures and standards across our platforms by hiring the best cyber security companies to expose any system security flaws, to ensure that no one can hack our information ".

Mr. Abdulla Al Tuwaijri is a passionate retail banking professional, known for his role in cementing Boubyan Bank as the leader in digital banking. Prior to joining Boubyan Bank, he  spent more than 22 years with NBK Group. During that time, he held different leadership roles in retail banking in Kuwait and London across functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, and Product & Branch Management.

The MBA Program at GUST has been developed to ensure that it meets the highest international standards, and ensures the growth of its students to reach their full potential. The program also plans to organize more seminars and events with renowned speakers of vast experience, which will not only benefit students, but the community as a whole.
